William Goodwin

Me

Welcome

I’m Will!

I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at George Mason University who also has a strong creative side. For me, the math and theory only matter if you can use them to bridge the gap between a concept in your head and a physical asset that actually works.

That same mindset crosses over into my creative work. Whether I’m doing cinematography, promotional graphic design, photography, or editing, the goal is always to build things with a high level of operational precision that does its goal, and does it well. I don’t treat engineering and creative media as separate fields; instead, I acknowledge they require the exact same discipline.

Right now, I’m focused on projects where mechanical structures, embedded electronics, and automation systems collide, because the fastest way to improve my skills is to design a system where something fails, and then learn from that and fix it.

A bit more about my interests: I have an aggressive curiosity that spans from any sciencey thing you can think of to paleontology, a bit of space, and all things vintage.
